Six of us are working on A Moogle Kupo d'Etat, and I'm assuming the same six are interested in continuing straight on through A Shantotto Ascension. I feel like these mini-expansions are something we should be able to finish within the month of August. If you don't already have Alchemy leveled to about 9 or whatever, please work on that when you get a chance! I'm on Shantotto Mission 5 (the end of it, actually, I'm basically on mission 6, but that doesn't trigger until the next cutscene). There are avatar fights before that point, so some {Team up?} will be required. I doubt I'm much help in such fights, but if you think I am, feel free to ask for some {Please assist.}
After we're done with the mini-expansions, it's Wings of the Goddess time! I imagine this will take us some time to get through, but let's not dawdle too much. Show of hands, who's coming along for this one? Honestly, I don't know much about WotG's structure, and how we should move through it. Are we at a disadvantage if we choose different countries in the war? I've done basically nothing in WotG. What's everyone else's status, and what are your thoughts on how you'd like to play through it?
As it says in the spreadsheet, I'm a bit of the way into WotG (mission 4?) and am allied with Sandy. I don't really know the best way for a group to tackle it though. My understanding is that each mission requires you to advance a certain number of quests in a nation storyline before you can trigger the next mission.
As far as the mini-expansions go, I'm up to the final battle of A Shantotto Ascension. I've collected all of the Hexes, so all I have to do is enter (and beat!) the fight to finish them off.
I honestly have barely even TOUCHED WotG. I've done a bunch of Campaign Ops and such but I've only done 2 or 3 of the missions thus far. I'm affiliated with Windy.
WotG is structured differently from the other expansions to cause MAX confusion I'm sure. There is the main storyline with its requisite heroine. And there are three nation storylines that are considered quests not missions. But to actually progress through the main missions, you have to have cleared to certain points in the nation questlines. You only HAVE to do one nation. It doesn't even have to be the nation you choose to affiliate yourself with. The advantage to going through your affiliated nation is that as you progress you "lock" your campaign medals. Cause otherwise you can get demoted.
Campaign is not required to advance the storyline, but I do suggest everyone do some. Because having Allied Notes is super useful to warp around in the past. Which you will do doing a LOT of. Trust me. You will backtrack more than you ever thought possible. You get the most notes doing battles, but you can also pick up Ops in town and some of them don't even require LEAVING town. I got WHM from like 15 to 30 basically using EXP scrolls and campaign ops.
I have finished the Windy questline, am about 2/3 through the Sandy one, and stuck at an annoying part in the Bastok one. IMO, all are worth doing (they also have different rewards) and each one does seem to be fleshing out more bits of the main story. As for what is EASIEST - that would be everyone go through one nation. But there is nothing stopping us from doing more than one at once.
Note that I won't always be available to play in August, hopefully I can manage to catch up if you make some progress without me on A Karababa Ascension.
Also, the past scares me, so you'll have to help me get through that fear :P
